Twitter Hires Martin Lipton to Fight Elon Musk as he Cancels the Deal

Twitter Hires Martin Lipton

Twitter hires Martin Lipton to fight Elon Musk. Twitter takes the help of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a notable firm, to have its page on Wikipedia. The founding partner of this firm, Martin Lipton, is credited with the invention of the shareholder rights plan, also known as the ‘poison pill,’ which is a shielding system that Twitter initially used to stop Musk’s attempt to buy out the company.

On Friday, July 8, 2022, Elon Musk submitted a paper to withdraw his $44 billion offer to acquire Twitter. Twitter’s chairman, Bret Taylor, issued a counter-tweet in response to the action, stating that the business would continue to take legal action to conclude the acquisition, as was agreed upon.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the employment of Wachtell Lipton has led to speculation regarding the microblogging platform that is fighting its case before the Delaware Court of Chancery.

When Musk made an appearance at the Sun Valley Conference, which took place over the weekend, The Verge claimed that he did not take any questions but did reply to inquiries about Twitter. However, Musk did not accept any questions about Tesla.

As Twitter hires Martin Lipton, sources claim that Elon Musk has retained the legal services of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. This firm has subsequently been given the Wikipedia treatment. The company was also responsible for defending Samsung against Apple’s patent litigation, in which Apple said that Samsung’s Galaxy handsets and tablets were direct replicas of those made by Apple for the iPhone and iPad. Musk has received the company’s support in the past, including in his defamation action against the “pedo guy” and his tweet that said “financing secured,” which was about taking Tesla private in cases brought against the SEC and ongoing shareholder litigation.
